COVID-19 UPDATE
Last updated: July 28, 2020
Dear Residents, Families, and Friends:
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is becoming more widespread in the U.S. and around the world. We have been working diligently to ensure our team is prepared. Our main focus has and continues to be control and compliance – control by building barriers against the spread and compliance with policies and protocols. We are acting with an abundance of caution, reinforcing our policies and procedures for contagious illnesses, and implementing recommendations from CDC, local and state guidelines.
For the continued safety and wellbeing of our residents and team members, we have taken appropriate steps to minimize public access to our communities. We have canceled events and large group meetings while controlling access of all vendors and healthcare partners. Every team member and essential healthcare partner that visits a Pathway building is required to go through a health screening before entering.
Effective as of March 12, 2020, in-person family and friend visits were restricted until further notice.
As of early May, in-person visits were introduced with social distant protocols and closely scheduled appointments for assisted living and supportive living communities. To schedule a visit with your loved one, we invite you to call the community directly to learn how to proceed and what precautions will be taken. We encourage you to remain in contact with your loved ones via telephone and video calls. Dogs are welcome to in-person visits and must remain on a leash. The leash must stay in the hands of the owner and cannot be excahnged between resident and owner in order to mitigate germ transfer. Our communities will make cell phones and other digital equipment available to residents who may not have cell phones. Team members will assist to schedule and help set up such calls if needed.
Pathway to Living is currently planning a program to safely introduce in-person visits for our Memory Support neighbors. Please check back for those updates
As of June 2020, small group programming of 6 to 8 residents was introduced into the communities. Residents partaking in small group programming must be wearing a surgical mask provided by the community and remain six feet apart from other residents.
All team members at every Pathway community go through a thorough health screening process upon entering the building, including a temperature check at the beginning of their shift and mid-shift. Team members are also required to be wearing masks throughout the day and full PPE is readily available at every Pathway community. Contact your executive director today to learn about the PPE protocols in you or your loved one's community.
Every Pathway to Living community regularly administers COVID-19 testing to team members and residents. To find out more about testing, contact your executive director.
If there is a confirmed positive case in the community, residents, team members, the primary contact on file of residents will be notified through a letter and/or phone call. There will also be a notice on the community's front door notifying of a positive case without identifying the infected person in accordance with HIPAA. If you fall into any of these categories and have not yet been notified, please call the Resident Hotline number at 888-959-3745 or the Team Member Hotline number at 844-256-1014.
Should an emergency situation arise requiring an in-person visit, our team will contact you immediately and coordinate your visit to ensure the wellbeing of our residents and team. Please do not hesitate to contact the executive director of the community if you have any questions or concerns. We regret the inconvenience this will cause and we will continue to provide you with periodic communication on new developments and welcome your questions.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep everyone healthy and safe during this time.
