Resident family

“On Thanksgiving of 2011, the doctors told us my mother could no longer live by herself.  I had no idea where to go or what was available.  After visiting several sites, I found Victory Center.  I was taken on a leisurely tour of the facility and introduced to many of the staff and residents.  The staff knew all the residents by name and spent time with each and everyone we encountered.  All of the common areas, the library, living room, dining area, and game room were immaculate.  The halls were clean and well maintained.  There is no “nursing home” smell that we all dread.  While her apartment is small in comparison to her old space, it is efficient and as she says, “all she needs”.    I am jealous that once a week her apartment is cleaned and her laundry delivered.

In the eleven months my mom has been a resident, she has bloomed.  She walks better and more often.  She has ladies to share meals and gossip.  I am relieved she gets the correct medicine and the right times.
I don’t think any assisted living facility would be perfect.  But, my mother is happy, safe and flourishing.  She has her independence with help right outside the door.  Victory Center was the right choice for our family.”
