Volunteer with Us
Few things in life are as rewarding as giving. At Pathway Senior Living, we invite you to share your time, talent and/or treasure with us. Whether you are a student seeking volunteer credits or an internship, a working adult seeking to “give back” to elders in the evenings or on weekends, a retiree wanting to continue a purpose-driven life – even a member of the family of one of our residents – your commitment to volunteering is greatly appreciated. Giving can be on a one-time, intermittent or regularly scheduled basis.
If you are compassionate, courteous, committed, patient, and have a good sense of humor, you’re an ideal candidate to volunteer with us! Find out more about volunteering or apply by contacting the Community Life Manager at a Pathway community near you.
Interviewing for a Volunteer Position
Pathway encourages volunteership at our communities. Sometimes we are asked, “Why do you conduct interviews for volunteers?” First and foremost, we want to protect the safety and privacy of residents. But in addition, we want to make sure that the volunteers we select are a good fit for a senior living environment.
As a Volunteer
We’ve developed a Volunteer Bill of Rights that emphasizes the importance of volunteer involvement in our communities.
- The right to a suitable assignment.
- The right to know as much about the community as possible; its people, its policies, its program.
- The right to train for the job.
- The right to be valued for your contribution.
- The right to be heard.
- The right to recognition.
With that in mind, there are a few formalities that need to be conducted for recurring volunteers – a criminal background check, TB test, and general orientation to our communities’ policies and procedures including understanding residents’ rights and HIPAA.
Please contact the Community Life Manager at the community near you for more information.
